4 Fantastic ways I was Reminded about God’s will

I kept seeing the same message. When a message is repeated to me in 4 amazing ways, I must take it seriously.

1. A devotional and illness

The first time I heard the message was in a devotional. A man told about his illnesses and his examinations on a hospital. His reaction to being sick was to be joyful, always praying and always giving thanks. He quoted 1 Thess 5:16-18  “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. While I was reading this, I had a time when I was sad and complaining about my life, and I was not able to pray to God for days. I didn’t think further about this verse.

 2. My husband and a broken wheelchair

A few days later my husband’s wheelchair was broken. Life became more complicated than usual. One night my husband and I went to bed, and he began to talk. It was as if he preached. He talked about all the good things in our life, all the things we should be grateful for.  I listened and said yes. I turned around and closed my eyes while thinking: Yes, but…I’m sad, I’m bored, I wish a lot of things were different, and that the wheelchair was not broken.

What I’ve been up to lately

Today I invite you to celebrate with me – and I have a gift for you. Hang on, I’ll tell you more later.

Last year I began to listen to my calling.  I had to write and at the same time I began to hear a voice calling. It belonged to someone I hadn’t talked to for years, and I answered: “I’m here! Where are you?” Christ found me, and He called me to follow Him and write about my walk with Him. I had to overcome many fears. I never imagined that I would create a blog with a focus on Christ. I had not imagined writing in English either. I dared not believe that some day I would write a book.
This autumn God gave me the courage to also write about Christ on my Danish blog. At the same time I received an invitation to submit a full poetry manuscript in English to a competition. I didn’t win the competition, but I didn’t lose either. For weeks I compiled, translated, edited and finished the poetry collection which became an ebook. I prayed to God for showing me what to do with the ebook. His answer sounded like “you’ve received it for free, give it away for free.” This answer meant many things.

Fill my empty hands

Fill my mind and my heart
with your water
I will catch every drop
remember each drop
How it feels on my skin

I was thirsty and you gave me water
I was dirty and you cleansed me
I called and you answered
Every good gift is from above

Because of His blood

Behold the Lamb of God
Praise Him and give Him glory
You were far away, but He found you
and showed you His wounds
Because of His blood
you are released from the chains of your sins
and the chains of the law
Because of His blood
you are alive
Because of His blood
you are a new man
Because of His blood
His grace is sufficient for you
Because of His blood
the curtain of the temple was torn in two
and you can come boldly to the Father
Because of His blood
you are no longer a stranger or a foreigner
You are brought near to Him
Because of His blood
He lives inside you
Because of His blood
you are a fellow citizen with the saints
Because of His blood
you can rest in the green pastures
Because of His blood
you shall fear no evil
Because of His blood
your cup runs over with the oil of His goodness and mercy
Because of His blood
You will dwell in the house of the Father forever
Jesus is the cornerstone

You have peace
because of His blood

Welcome here, New Year of grace[1]
Welcome Lord, to our blank calendar year
Come and heal our wounds
Welcome Peace, Hope and Joy
Welcome Word of Truth
Welcome Light and grace
Welcome Lamb, the bread of life
Write your name on our foreheads
Only Your blood and Spirit can quench our thirsts
Only You, Jesus Christ, can fill our void
